Senior Portraits

WHAT TO WEAR

Choosing your outfits can be so stressful - but it doesn’t have to be! You don’t have to buy a whole wardrobe just for your shoot, but instead choose a couple of your favorite outfits that you typically wear.
Here are a couple of wardrobe suggestions:

  1. Keep it simple! Choose basic colors and keep patterns minimal. Sometimes busy patterns don’t read well in the camera and can made that super tight plaid button-up look crazy.

  2. Play with your accessories! Add in a hat, a bold pair of earrings, or some funky heels with your outfit. This is the best way to dress up your look without going overboard.

  3. If you want to highlight your sport(s), you don’t have to do the FULL outfit. Throw on your jersey with some faded jeans and you’ll be sporty AND stylish!

  4. Make sure that you look like YOU. Don’t wear crazy outfits that you wouldn’t wear outside of your session - just be yourself and let your own personal style shine through!

WHAT TO BRING

A fun way to showcase your personality in your photos is to bring lots of props! This can be anything from sporting gear to animals - anything that represents who you are and what you love!
Here are a couple of prop suggestions:

  1. Bring all your gear! If you play sports, bring along your ball, helmet, pom-poms - the works. If you have won any medals, trophies, or rings, those are always fun to showcase as well.

  2. Bring your pup! I love when my seniors bring their family pet along for the journey. They won’t be included in all of your pictures - just a few - so be sure to have someone who can take care of them throughout your session.

  3. Bring your hobby along! No matter what it is you like to do, odds are there is something simple you can bring along. For example, if you love to paint, bring along a popup easel, a (basically) finished canvas, paintbrush, and paint palette to set the scene. If you love to hunt, bring your bow and arrow! Just keep it fun.
